about the bcchtx film festival
The BCCHTX Film Festival is a celebration of Black cinema, culture, and creative community in Houston.
Created by Black Cinema Club HTX, the festival brings filmmakers, film lovers, emerging creatives, and industry professionals together for a weekend rooted in storytelling, connection, education, and access.
More than a place to watch films, the BCCHTX Film Festival creates space for Black stories to be celebrated on the big screen while investing in the people behind them. Through curated screenings, filmmaker conversations, workshops, industry programming, cultural experiences, and community events, the festival connects audiences with the art they love and creatives with opportunities to grow.
Our goal is bigger than one weekend: to strengthen Houston’s Black film community, champion the next generation of storytellers, and help build a city where Black cinema can thrive.
